With over 3 million Tweets per day and over 2.8 billion users it seems possible that being on Twitter could have its advantages – he says with some level of scepticism!
Twitter is in essence a social sticky note or the SMS of the Internet. It's snack sized content. Therefore the question is - are we or our business interesting enough to serve the full course….? Or can we engage people with simply 140 characters? Time will tell…!
Ultimately, Twitter, blogs, wikis and other web-based technologies are simply tools to share information, stimulate debate and conversation and in the case of academic publishing, more efficiently disseminate scientific literature and data.
