Future Science - US sales representation
Future Science Group has appointed ACCUCOMS B.V to provide locally-based sales representation in North America. The service includes lead research, customer visits, product demonstrations, arranging trial access and negotiating site license access for institutions, large corporations, multi-nationals and consortia.
Customer service and technical support for new and existing customers will continue to be handled by the London-based office staff.
“We are excited about the potential that a dedicated presence in the US offers.”
said Stephen Galt, Sales Manager at Future Science Group. “The US is the largest single market on the planet. As an STM publisher it seemed very limiting not to have a resource based in North America. ACCUCOMS have been able to offer us an affordable way to enhance our presence in the US, and also to gain direct feedback from this important market, so we can better understand and respond to our customers and their needs.”
Stephen Galt continued; “This development also represents an important milestone in our plan for strategic growth and will help cement our position as one of the rising stars in medical publishing. ACCUCOMS share the understanding that success is not built on one-off transactions, but on developing lasting relationships – which is as much about listening and responding to our customers as well as selling to them.”
Since launching their US and European-based sales representation service,
ACCUCOMS have signed six publishers; Future Science Group, National Academy of Sciences, The Royal Society, The Royal Society of Medicine Press, American Psychiatric Publishing and the journal CHEST.
"By providing a centralized service for independent publishers everyone benefits," commented Egon Menardi, Sales Director at ACCUCOMS. "Librarians get a single point of negotiation across many leading independent publishers and can choose the titles they need, and publishers get an effective and cost-efficient service. ACCUCOMS are rapidly becoming a 'must see' for any library interested in expanding their online collection."
The Future Science Group will be attending both the MLA and SLA annual meetings in 2007 and are currently offering extended institutional trials for US institutions. For further information please contact sales.us@futuremedicine.com.
