As part of the continued expansion of our titles, a position has arisen in our North London office for an Assistant Editor within our dynamic Editorial team. This opportunity is suited to a high-achieving, motivated, life science graduate (2.1 or above) keen to establish a career in biomedical publishing.
This varied role will allow you to experience all aspects of the Editorial process, specifically:
- The opportunity to work with the latest information in modern medicine across a range of successful titles
- Responsibility for ensuring the quality and consistency of the journals
- Liaison with leading international researchers and clinicians
- Involvement in the creative direction and development of key titles
No previous Editorial experience is necessary as full training will be provided. However, in order to excel in the high-pressure world of biomedical publishing, the successful candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, have strong communication and organisation skills and the proven ability to work to tight deadlines.

As part of the continued expansion of our titles, we are recruiting for positions in our North London office for experienced Editors within our dynamic Editorial team. This opportunity is suited to a motivated life science graduate or equivalent (2.1 or above) with at least 12 months experience in STM publishing.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of the following:
- Working to and meeting tight deadlines in a changeable environment
- Contacting and liaising with international researchers and/or clinicians
- Organising workload to deliver high-quality output to timeframe and budget
This varied role will allow you to experience all aspects of the Editorial process, specifically:
- Involvement in the creative direction and development of key titles
- Researching and keeping up to date with advances in modern medicine
- Liaising with international key opinion leaders to ensure high-quality content across our range of products
- Ensuring the accuracy and precision of all content

Future Science specialises in the publication of high-quality peer-reviewed commentary and analysis in today’s key areas of research endeavor.
Are you a graduate or post-graduate in the field of chemistry, biochemistry or a related field? Could you apply your enthusiasm and scientific background in a lively publishing environment? Due to rapid expansion of our successful journal portfolio, we are now seeking a dedicated self-starter to play an important role in the day-to-day running of our journal portfolio, which includes the titles Pharmaceutical Bioprocessing, Bioanalysis and Future Medicinal Chemistry.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the peer-review process and play a role in maintaining high editorial standards
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest scientific advances
- Contribute to defining future journal content and assist in commissioning topical articles
- Contributing towards the direction of coverage in response to emerging trends
- Liaising with international academic and industrial experts and opinion leaders
- Building relationships with expert authors
- Working with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure effective visibility and promotion within the research community
For this role, candidates should possess a graduate or post-graduate qualification in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical or pharmaceutical science, or a related field. Publishing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in pharmaceutical science, along with the enthusiasm to learn and establish a strong career in publishing. Applicants should have excellent organisational skills and computer literacy, and have an understanding of the importance of scheduling and problem solving, and the ability to work to strict deadlines. Experience of leading a team, assisting staff training, and monitoring team deadlines and work allocation would be advantageous.
There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to develop quickly and assume responsibility for, and have a real impact on, the content and future direction of our journals.
