Clinical Insights: Adult Congenital Heart Disease
Part of the Cardiology collection
Edited by Peter P Karpawich
Adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) as a specialty was not a major concern in either pediatric or internal medicine cardiology training programs for many years. However, a shift in focus has occurred over the past decade, and with statistics showing more than 1 million individuals with ACHD in the USA, specialty training and board certification have evolved. The field of ACHD is one of evolution in knowledge and interventions, and diverse technological development. This book of seven chapters sets out our current understanding of ACHD and the approaches available for management.
