FSG discusses the clinical impact of COVID-19 across healthcare in #TalkCOVID19 Twitter chat

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on healthcare systems across the globe. Regardless of speciality, clinical workflow has had to evolve rapidly to the changing environment, centered around how to get the best outcome for the patient.

At Future Science Group (FSG), a progressive scientific and medical publisher, we are convening a multidisciplinary panel to share the knowledge already gained and discuss oncoming challenges that healthcare will face, in a #TalkCOVID19 Twitter chat.

It is vital to gain a range of perspectives from different healthcare sectors to overcome the challenges presented by coronavirus. Across our journals and digital hubs at FSG, we have already covered major issues regarding COVID-19 including: the importance of diagnostic testing, the impact of coronavirus on mental health, the impact of COVID-19 on cancer mortality and how the COVID-19 symptom tracking app has been adapted throughout the pandemic.

The #TalkCOVID19 Twitter chat will continue the conversation further and bring in more viewpoints from different clinical settings across the globe. Hosted by @futuresciencegp, the live, 1-hour Twitter event will take place on 19 June at 3pm BST / 10am EDT. Panelists include clinicians across an array of disciplines including infectious diseases, neurology, oncology and real-world evidence: Michael Thompson (Aurora Health, WI, USA), Nikhil Sharma (University College London Queen Square Institute of Neurology, UK), Narjust Duma (University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, WI, USA), Boghuma Titanji (Emory University, GA, USA) and Jordan Strom (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, MA, USA).

The panelists will share their own experiences and insights on a range of topics including:

  • How clinical workflows have been adapted since the onset of the pandemic

  • The use of digital health technologies

  • How high standards of care can be maintained during- and post-pandemic

  • The impact of COVID-19 on use of treatment for comorbidities

  • The long-term impact on clinical practice

Make sure you join us at 10am EDT on 19 June: just search the hashtag #TalkCOVID19 on Twitter to view the chat, pose questions to the panelists and join the conversation!
