Future Science Group celebrates International Women’s Day 2022

To mark International Women’s Day 2022 (8 March), Future Science Group (FSG, London, UK) is delighted to present a visual snapshot of women’s experiences in STEM.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is #BreaktheBias. Through a collection of interviews and insightful, wide-reaching polls conducted across FSG’s social media channels, our eCommunities have explored times women felt empowered working in STEM as well as the remaining challenges they face.

The graphics, created from the poll results, highlight topics such as whether women felt supported approaching STEM in their childhood and the current levels of gender representation in their organizations.

“Despite the strides forward in closing the pay gap and a push for equal opportunities, there still remain many unmet challenges in STEM. At FSG, we hope to #BreaktheBias by showcasing the amazing work that trailblazing women do across science through the content on our open-access digital hubs,” commented Jade Parker, Senior Editor at FSG.

International Women’s Day was first held in 1911 and is marked each year to celebrate women’s achievements, as well as to serve as a call to action for accelerating gender parity. FSG is committed to gender equality and celebrating the achievements of women in STEM.
