Nominations are now open for the Future Science Future Star Award 2019

Future Science OA opens nominations for the Future Science Future Star Award – an annual award recognizing early career researchers who are advancing human healthcare.

Future Science OA, an open access biomedical journal published by Future Science Group, today announced that nominations for the third year of its early career research award are now open.

Originally launched in 2017 as the Early Career Research Award, the award is open to people within the first five years of their first academic appointment (post-doc onwards) who are making significant contributions to biomedical research and show promise for the future.

“Since launching this award, we’ve met multiple early career researchers performing high-quality, outstanding research having a real impact on human health,” commented Future Science OA Managing Editor, Francesca Lake. “We’re proud to continue our commitment to supporting early career researchers and I’m very excited to see what the 2019 candidates are doing in their fields.”

The winner will receive:

•    £1000 to support their career
•    A webinar on their research topic
•    A video interview
•    A place on the Future Science OA Early Career Panel
•    The opportunity to be a guest editor for a Special Focus Issue of FSOA based around their research field

An expert judging panel will narrow the list of nominees down to a shortlist of candidates, following which there will be a public vote for the winner.
