RegMedNet launches Rising Star Award to recognize early career scientists

RegMedNet, the hub for the international regenerative medicine and advanced therapies community, powered by Future Science Group, has launched the Rising Star Award. Aiming to recognize early-career scientists for their incredible work revolutionizing the field of regenerative medicine, the award has been generously supported by FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific (CA, USA), a worldwide leader in the innovation and manufacture of cell culture media, reagents, and medical devices for researchers and clinicians.

“The Rising Star Award is a fantastic chance to promote the work that you, your colleagues or your friends are doing in the field of regenerative medicine”, explained Sarah Rehman, Editor, RegMedNet. “Anyone can nominate and be nominated, whether they are in academia, industry, and everything in between.”

The prize bundle for the winner of the Rising Star Award includes US$1000, flights, hotel and entry to a regenerative medicine or related conference in 2023, and much more. To nominate simply complete the short nomination form and a member of the RegMedNet editorial team will be in touch to collect more information. Nominate now>>

Once nominated, the potential stars will be shortlisted by a judging panel of regenerative medicine experts: Bruce Levine (Barbara and Edward Netter Professor in Cancer Gene Therapy, University of Pennsylvania, PA, USA), who was the co-creator of the first FDA-approved gene therapy, Kymriah, and is the current President of the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy, Leslie Yeo (Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, Australia), who has himself received an award for early-career excellence, the Young Tall Poppy Science Award, and has authored over 250 publications, and Robert Newman (Chief Scientific Officer, FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific), who has many years’ experience leading scientific strategy and has a PhD in biochemistry from Georgetown University (DC, USA).

“The Rising Star Award continues RegMedNet’s commitment to supporting the next generation of regenerative medicine leaders, furthering the field and ultimately bringing regenerative medicines to the patients that need them most,” commented Freya Leask, Publisher, RegMedNet. “We are delighted to be working with FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific, who are themselves leaders in providing quality service and products to researchers globally, to recognize the rising stars of the industry, and thrilled to have the support of Bruce, Leslie and Bob who have the difficult task of narrowing down our shortlist.”

Once shortlisted, our final nominees will go to a public vote, opening in July 2022. Finally, the winner will be announced in October 2022.
